Introducing new feature: Talk Show!
Viewers, it’s time to connect with your favorite streamers via a means other than the text chat!
It thrills us to unveil the latest add-on to our service: Talk Show. How does this feature work? It enables the streamer to directly invite any of their viewers to their own broadcast via an Internet browser.
If your webcam and/or microphone are active when you accept the invite, they will immediately be carried over to the broadcaster’s live feed. This essentially makes up a group call similar to how Discord and Skype function, except it’s on-stream and with little to no latency whatsoever!
While the Talk Show is active, complete control of the session remains in the streamer’s hands. Viewers can only be invited or dismissed from the stream by the streamer themselves, and this feature primarily targets viewers present in their chat.
Viewers, to participate in a streamer’s chat room and/or their Talk Show, you must create an account on StreamMe. To get started, please visit www.stream.me and follow the instructions as they are presented.
It gets better: while programs like XSplit or OBS are a requirement to running a stream, that does not extend to the Talk Show feature, as that is primarily accessed via your StreamMe account settings, which can in turn be utilized from your Internet browser.
Streamers, whenever you call a viewer into your session using the new feature, your live feed should appear exactly as illustrated in the image below. Take a look!
The streamer’s broadcast will be given the most priority in the live feed, but your own camera feed will appear directly below their screen. Should your camera not be active, however, a default avatar will appear over your window instead.
To summarize, it’s the equivalent of a group voice call on Discord or Skype made exclusively for use on live streams! We firmly believe that this is a huge step towards bridging the gap between the viewer and the streamer, along with the other features we’ve introduced over time - such as subscriber benefits, gifts, raffles, and so on.
Please be advised that the Talk Show is still in beta, and as such, we will continue to improve upon it however possible. As always, we take your feedback into account! Simply contact us via our social media (listed at the bottom of the article) and let us know what you think of this brand new interaction!
