Arctorious and Thalessa revealed for @OmenofSorrow, which launches exclusively for #PlayStation4 tomorrow!

Tomorrow, Omen of Sorrow, which gamers are quickly labeling as the “Killer Instinct” for PlayStation 4, is due for a digital release worldwide tomorrow. The physical version will also release in Europe at that time, but its arrival to North America will be delayed for two weeks until November 20th.

From development to launch, AOne Games, the Chilean game company responsible for the creation of Omen of Sorrow, has eagerly shared pre-release builds with gaming communities inside and outside of their home territory. They’d even paid a visit to the Evolution Championships this year in the hopes of showcasing their unique approach to the competitive fighting game genre.

But it appears that the surprises will keep coming, because in a launch trailer that surfaced today, we’ve glimpsed two new characters coming to Omen of Sorrow: Arctorious, the Headless Horseman, and Thalessa, the Invisible Queen.

These two characters will join a twelve-fighter roster that will be available right off the bat when Omen of Sorrow releases tomorrow, November 6th. American customers can head over here to the PSN Store to reserve their copies, while the European customers can do so via this link.

Like every other fighting game, Omen of Sorrow comes with a versus mode, but it also introduces an in-depth training mode that enables the player to explore all of the mechanics down to the last detail…in particular, the game’s unique approaches to the famed style of one-versus-one combat, which include the Fortune Gauge, the Destiny Gauge, and the “Blessed” and “Doomed” mid-match statuses. Every detail is crucial to determining the course of battle, and so it is heavily advised that one does their research.

For the online players, Omen of Sorrow will utilize a rollback-styled form of netcode called GGPO, which will ensure a smooth play-by-play experience. One strong example is that the matchmaking lobbies can house up to twelve players each! Now that’s a lot of competition to be ready for!

If multiplayer is not your thing, no need to fret. AOne Games has gone to great lengths to present an amazing Story Mode that thrusts the player into a world of darkness and despair. The search for a manuscript known as the Omen of Sorrow is a particularly hot topic, and you will be able to see the story through the eyes of multiple characters as you play as each and every one of them.

A classic-style Arcade Mode will also be included in the game. Like any other fighting game, you’ll climb up a ladder full of powerful opponents. Defeat them all to face a final boss.

The complete scoop on what to expect from the game has been provided in a post via the PlayStation blog written by Sebastian Gana, co-founder and technical director for AOneGames. That post can be found here.

Will there be DLC characters? Perhaps a future release on other platforms? Time will tell…until then, follow our blog to stay informed on the latest news as they come!
