.@Harada_TEKKEN has been promoted to supervisor for Bandai Namco's esports strategy team
In the wake of a recent crisis plaguing DBFZ events, there appears to be a slight change in staffing for Bandai Namco, one that comes as a welcome surprise to the FGC.
Katsuhiro Harada, known for the creation and endless support of the Tekken franchise, has recently been promoted to the position of a leader and supervisor for Bandai Namco’s esports strategy team. This essentially means that Harada will now take a more hands-on approach with nurturing esports communities for all games produced by Bandai, including Dragonball FighterZ, Soul Calibur 6 and obviously Tekken 7.
Of course, Harada fully intends to continue overseeing the production of his beloved creation, as he stated himself via a Twitlonger post. You can read that post via this link.
Along with the news regarding this change, Harada states that the company plans to host a growing number of events throughout 2019, in addition to supporting community-run tournaments. How exactly this will be accomplished, Harada did not elaborate on.
For anyone with questions or inquiries regarding events that will include Bandai’s games in their lineup, players or TOs are encouraged to contact their local Bandai Namco office. Conditions to do so may differ depending on the area where the office is located.
Before anyone assumes that this is the reason why Dragonball FighterZ is currently facing the challenge of being prohibited at certain events, Harada de-confirms this via a follow-up post that addresses an inquiry about his promotion.
