The Week 7 finals have come to pass, and history has seen a repeat due to the efforts of Noble Semiij, who has been crowned your Week 7 winner!

In Season 1, Semiij won five consecutive War of the Gods brackets out of the overall ten, making him not only the most consistent player seen in StreamMe’s circuits, but also the only player to pass the 1,000-point threshold for all circuits he’s participated in. The other brackets would be won by players such as Echo Fox SonicFox, Echo Fox Theo, and MK Buffalo.

Now in Season 2, Semiij has broken that record once more, with five wins in War of the Gods to rival his teammate Noble Rewind, who currently holds two victories under his belt. However, Semiij was pushed to the verge of having his record shattered before his eyes by the likes of Method SylverRye, who’d sent Semiij to Loser’s; Emperor Kombat, who was one hit away from eliminating Semiij in the first round of the Loser’s Bracket; and Allegiance Dragon, who’d sent Rewind and BxA Anbu GetReked to Loser’s while walking the road to Grand Finals.

Despite the disadvantage of starting from the lower bracket, however, Semiij’s composure and progress remained as strong as steel. After escaping a narrow loss against Emperor Kombat’s Firestorm, he defeated his teammate Rewind once more to maintain the upper hand in their iconic rivalry, and he dealt a second team kill to Noble Tweedy, who’d eliminated the player responsible for escorting Semiij to Loser’s.

BxA Anbu GetReked awaited Semiij at the end of the lower bracket. The two wasted no time in playing tug ‘o war over the ticket to Grand Finals, and eventually Semiij emerged from the contest as the victor. Harsh reality set in quickly, however, when Dragon took a quick 2-0 lead in the first Grand Finals set. The breath left everyone in the audience, as anticipation built over what appeared to be the rise of a new champion at last.

But Semiij was not about to accept defeat without a struggle. Before an astonished audience’s eyes, his instincts led him to download the upsides and downsides to Dragon’s strategy, and before everyone knew it, Semiij had turned the tables to reset the bracket with a 3-2 victory. Allegiance Dragon was left completely disarmed by Semiij’s dramatic adjustment to his gameplay, so much so that he had no further retaliation to offer in the second set, which Semiij proceeded to take 3-0, successfully protecting his streak in War of the Gods Season 2.

As stated before, his achievement has cemented his streak as not only the points leader in the War standings, but also the only player to break one-thousand points in multiple circuits by StreamMe. See below for the graphic depicting the current standings for the season!

If anything positive has come out of this experience for Dragon, it is that he has made his return to the Top 3 in the standings. In addition, Method SylverRye is ranked within the Top 8 once again, but he is now tied with Anbu GetReked and RevetLeafing, as all three players now hold 255 points! With five weeks left to go in Season 2, though, this stalemate is not expected to last.

Who can finally dethrone Semiij? Well, we will have to wait a while to find out, as we will be entering a temporary hiatus from hosting War of the Gods this weekend. The season will resume with Week 8 next Sunday, February 11th. If you’d like to participate, sign up now and grab those points while you can, as they will be your only hope of making it into the Top 8 as well as the Season 2 Finale!
