Noble @Semiij wins #WarOfTheGods S2 Week 11!

Noble Semiij once again stands victorious as your War of the Gods champion, but his journey to that achievement did not come without a struggle.

Buffalo, returning finalist for War of the Gods, suffered a one-sided defeat at the hands of Method SylverRye's Batman in the upper bracket. Rather than stay down, however, Buffalo went on a rampaging streak in Loser's. His Michelangelo put out Emperor Kombat's fire semi-convincingly, then he switched back to Sub-Zero to take out HZRDS Knicks's Darkseid in an extremely tense exhibition. It was a tiring road to walk, but Buffalo made his way to Loser's Finals, determined to run it back with SylverRye.

And he would get that wish: Rye faced the reigning champion, Semiij, in a struggle that pushed the young Noble to his limits. When the set reached a stalemate at two games apiece, viewers wondered if Semiij had finally met his match, but it would not be so that night. Rye fell 2-3 to his opponent, setting the stage for his runback with a bloodthirsty Buffalo.

Once more, Buffalo employed his new strategy with Michelangelo, and for a while it seemed to work. But when Rye's Hellboy vehemently denied the Turtle his next spoils of victory, Buffalo resurrected his Sub-Zero in a last bid for survival. Rye's confidence from their previous set spurred him to go all out, but that offense would quickly be controlled by Buffalo's new approach to the match-up. Rye suddenly found himself facing a 1-2 disadvantage in the set...in an effort to correct this, he returned to his Batman, but once again Buffalo was prepared to fend off Gotham City's defender, earning his spot in Grand Finals as a result.

It appeared that history was well on the way of facing a repeat: Buffalo had literally qualified for the Season 1 Finale of War of the Gods by way of points at the very last leg of the season, largely due to his victories in the final two weeks of the season. With only two weeks left in Season 2 as well, Buffalo stood poised to repeat this feat. When the first Grand Finals set concluded with an astonishing 3-0 from Buffalo, the spectators were immobilized by shock.

During their first set, Semiij had decided to make a bet on his Poison Ivy after his first loss, a bet that would not pay off. He instantly switched back to his Catwoman, just as the second set began its course. Buffalo's win streak broke abruptly in the first game, but he seized back control in the follow-up match. Finally, momentum swayed into Semiij's favor long enough for him to contain the Lin Kuei Grandmaster's fury, and the Catwoman specialist claimed a well-earned 3-1 victory in the second finals set.

Now that we are preparing to enter into the final week of the season, it is time to highlight some key factors regarding the War league rankings. As of now, three of the eight players ranked at the top have completely guaranteed their qualification into the Season 2 Finale:

- Noble Semiij: 1,600 league points
- Noble Rewind - 1,075 league points
- Noble Tweedy - 670 league points

All three Noble players that have appeared consistently throughout all weekly finals in Season 2 will be joining us on March 25th for the final showdown, regardless of what transpires in Week 12! We congratulate all three of them for earning this honor and we look forward to seeing them in the finale!

The five players ranked below them, however, are at risk of potentially being gate-kept from the finale. Below is a Twitter post composed by Noble Stokes that illustrates the possibilities of how the rankings could impact the final bracket for the Season Finale next weekend. Please take a look.

The players ranked from fourth to eighth place must play exceptionally well in Week 12 if they are to join the Noble boys in the finale. Those players are:

- ALG Dragon
- Emperor Kombat
- HZRDS Knicks
- Method Sylverrye
- CLN Nubcakes

Out of those five players, Rye and Nubcakes face the greatest risk of being pushed out of reach of qualifying for the finale. Out of everyone ranked below them, there are a half-dazon competitors that could upset the rankings considerably:

- BC HoneyBee
- MCG TitaniumTigerzz
- CLN Dab
- yungmonster
- CLN TSS Deoxys
- BxA Anbu GetReked

Who will survive...and who will perish? That is for Week 12 to decide. We encourage everyone, regardless of whether or not they have a possibility of qualifying for the finale, to sign up now for a final shot at adding some league points and cash to their name!

Also, join us on Saturday, March 24th for a flashback from the days of the Kombat Cup, where players can compete in Mortal Kombat XL for a prize pool that will be split across all eight finalists!
