Call of Duty #BlackOps4 comes to PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 12th!
Last Thursday, a special reveal event took place for the Call of Duty community.
Earlier this year, Activision released a statement confirming that Treyarch had begun work on the next entry in the Call of Duty Black Ops series: Black Ops 4. It is the fifteenth installment in the overall Call of Duty franchise, but also the first to feature no single-player modes whatsoever. Treyarch has instead shifted in the direction of focusing solely on the multiplayer experience.
The mutliplayer modes to be featured in Black Ops 4 are the traditional multiplayer mode, the highly popular Zombie mode, and a brand-new battle royale mode called Blackout. Blackout serves as a stand-in for the single-player campaign mode, utilizing the traditional combat style for the franchise while featuring the largest maps ever created and every possible character from the series.
The Zombie mode, however, will actually feature two separate storylines. This mode will feature three maps: "Voyage of Despair," "IX" and "Blood of the Dead." The first two maps will introduce a new story in the Call of Duty universe that features a new cast of characters, whereas the third will continue a storyline established in previous Black Ops titles.
The game is scheduled to release on October 12th for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC. However, rather than Steam, the PC version will be developed for use at battle.net by Blizzard Entertainment.
Should you pre-order your copy of Black Ops 4 right now, you will be eligible for a code to a private beta that will launch later this year. You can visit www.callofduty.com right now to reserve your copy and get ready for the beta.
The Call of Duty franchise launched with its first entry in 2003, but the Black Ops spin-off has received the strongest response from the community since its introduction in 2010. The series would be taken into esports in 2006, during which Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 was released at the time. The game has received an incredible following from players in North America and Europe, and nowadays it is normal to see established players with at least 500k followers on social media.
