Vulcano Rosso and Pullum Purna are coming to #FEXL as FREE DLC fighters!
Fighting EX Layer recently released for the Playstation 4 console near the end of June. The FGC has been quick to respond with their wallets, and the overall reception is an overwhelmingly positive one.
Now that we are two weeks into the game's lifespan, ARIKA is already dropping some incoming surprises. Among them is the inevitable release of the game's first two DLC characters: Vulcano Rosso and Pullum Purna.
How much will each character be priced at? NONE. ARIKA has announced that once they arrive, they will be FREE to download. Release dates for both characters will be announced at EVO 2018, which takes place at Las Vegas's Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino on August 3-5, 2018.
There will also be a side tournament for Fighting EX Layer at EVO. For anyone going to EVO that is interested in participating, visit this page to learn more.
In addition, ARIKA has released the notes for an incoming update that they plan to integrate into the game later this month. Included in this update will be the ability to instantly return to Training Mode after completing an online match, as well as a full-fledged Arcade Mode, which is considered a staple feature in fighting games.
After twenty years, the long-awaited successor to the original Fighting Layer, released by ARIKA in 1998, has finally released as of June 28, 2018. Albeit, it was initially available only in Japanese arcades, and it never saw a transition to either the PC or console platforms at the time.
With Fighting EX Layer, however, the opposite has been achieved. Released exclusively for the Playstation 4, players can take their favorite characters back to a 3D arena while utilizing familiar mechanics along with the new Gougi System, a powerful deck-based system that grants various abilities to each fighter.
Initially Fighting EX Layer was revealed as ARIKA EX as part of an April Fool's joke last year, but due to the response ARIKA received from its fans, it was revealed again at EVO 2017 as an actual upcoming title. It is a console exclusive for now, but ARIKA has expressed that if the title sees enough success, they may consider porting the product to Steam (PC).
