Game Lineup and Event Schedule announced for #CEOtaku 2018

Now that CEO 2018 is in the books, Jebailey and company plan to move ahead with the next chapter of their brand.

CEOtaku 2018 places a particular emphasis on a unique corner of the FGC called the Anime Fighting Game Community, which specializes in titles that are not only animated in a fashion similar to known programs like Dragonball Z, but also present a unique approach in fighting game mechanics, such as an emphasis on air combat and the combo system. Titles such as Guilty Gear, BlazBlue, Under Night In-Birth, and the recently-released Dragonball FighterZ are generally associated with the Anime FGC.

As part of the CEO team's journey to embrace the fighting game community, CEOtaku was founded about a half-decade ago. It has since evolved into a keystone event for the Anime FGC.

Like the main CEO event from 2010 to 2017, CEOtaku will be held at the Orlando Wyndham Resort from September 21-23, 2018.

This year, up to fifteen titles will be hosted at CEOtaku 2018. The whole list can be seen in the Twitter post by Jebailey below.

Registration for CEOtaku has yet to become available, but it is scheduled to launch next Monday, July 16th, barring any potential delays. In the meantime, a page for the event has been created on Facebook, found here.

CEOtaku 2018 marks the official debut of three titles: Dragonball FighterZ, Fighting EX Layer (which released this year on June 28th), and Blazblue Cross Tag Battle. All three, along with an additional portion of the lineup, will be held on the Playstation 4 console for tournament purposes.

According to Jebailey, brackets will kick off on Saturday, September 22nd at 10 A.M. Eastern Time. The event will also feature demos for upcoming game titles. One of CEOtaku's aims will be to have three streams available to showcase as much of the event as possible, if not more.

Additional information is expected to be released by mid-September.
