Noble @Semiij wins #WarOfTheGods S3 Week 4!

It's taken four weeks, but we have our first multi-bracket winner to present: Noble eSports's Semiij, who'd recently been crowned the CEO 2018 Champion in the second Premier Event of the Injustice 2 Pro Series!

But as the upper bracket kicked off, Semiij quickly found himself losing three games straight to Emperor Kombat's Firestorm, a result so convincing that many had written him off from their list of winners they'd predicted would win Week 4. In addition, yungmonster quickly ascended to stardom via a majestic display of his Wonder Woman, who'd dismantled Hero Killer Stain's Cyborg three games straight, as Kombat did to Semiij.

With SonicFox unable to show for his match, that left only HZRDS KNICKS and Noble Rewind to kick off the first match of the lower bracket. Having undergone recent training with CLN Deoxys to learn the ways of the Blue Beetle player, Rewind decided to chance his own Beetle against KNICKS's Black Manta and Darkseid. After falling behind in the set, Rewind pulled it back to even it out at 2-2, but KNICKS ultimately closed out the fifth game with a well-earned victory, eliminating the first of Noble's three representatives.

Loser's Quarterfinals unfolded with a team kill between Semiij and Noble Tweedy, setting the stage for a runback from the Grand Finals of CEO 2018. But rather than Starfire, Tweedy left his destiny in the hands of his Doctor Fate, which proved just as formidable as his other characters. A ray of hope shone on Tweedy as he took Game 4 to tie up the set 2-2, but Semiij Cat-Dashed that hope instantly, taking Game 5 to continue his win streak over his teammate and to prolong his stay in the bracket.

HZRDS KNICKS was caught unawares by the wall of zoning from Hero Killer Stain's Cyborg, but he adjusted quickly to his opponent's strategies, tying up the set 1-1 as a result. In a surprise twist, however, Killer Stain finally deserted his Cyborg in favor of his Atom, a character who'd recently been given the spotlight due to Grr's results with him. Undeterred by the character change, KNICKS solved Killer Stain's equation to emerge victorious with a 3-1 win.

Like a switch being flipped, match outcomes went straight back to a 3-0 regimen for the remainder of the bracket. Like Semiij, yungmonster found himself without a response to Kombat's Firestorm, and KNICKS had no answer to Semiij, who'd apparently shaken off his earlier loss to get back in top form. With yungmonster worn down by his loss to Kombat, Semiij moved in for the kill, eliminating the Wonder Woman specialist in Loser's Finals to earn his runback with Kombat.

Contrary to their previous set, Kombat was now on the receiving end of a ruthless Semiij. He finally began to reclaim his momentum in Game 3 after landing a sequence of successful mix-ups, but Semiij brushed off the loss and proceeded to reset the bracket 3-1. Nonplussed by this turn of events, Kombat tried valiantly to adjust to Semiij's newfound approach to their match-up, but was ultimately unsuccessful.

Without dropping a single game in the second set, Semiij ran it back against Kombat to become the Week 4 Champion, as well as our first-time multi-bracket winner in War of the Gods Season 3!
