Multiplayer and Blackout Betas for #BlackOps4 coming this August and September!

Excited for Black Ops 4?

Then it may interest you to know that Treyarch, developer of the Call of Duty franchise, has announced two gameplay betas coming this August and September! Each beta concerns a different gameplay aspect of Black Ops 4, but will be scheduled accordingly to cover all platforms that will support the title.

The full scoop on what to expect from the Black Ops 4 betas can be seen from this blog post by Treyarch, but for your convenience, we'll gladly give you a rundown.

The first beta, specifically the Private Multiplayer Beta, will begin on August 3rd and will be available on the Playstation 4 console at that time, up until August 6th. The PS4 beta will then make a return on August 10th, but an Xbox One beta will launch alongside its PS4 counterpart as well, and both will be available until August 13th.

Along with the consoles, the PC beta will launch with an early access phase on August 10th before upgrading into an open beta the next day. This beta will run exclusively on Battle.Net as the result of a partnership with Beenox and Blizzard, and it will be available until the 13th of August.

As the Private Multiplayer Beta for Black Ops 4 runs its course, Treyarch will be collecting community feedback from all participants in a tireless effort to deliver the best possible version of the product.

Along with the Private Multiplayer Beta, a Blackout Beta will launch this September, but details regarding the schedule it will follow have yet to be shared. It is only known that this beta will first become available on the Playstation 4 console, before expanding to other platforms.

What exactly is Blackout? It basically serves as a stand-in for a campaign mode, which will be absent for Black Ops 4 as the game's focus will be exclusively on a multiplayer experience. Players will compete against one another in maps previously seen in previous iterations of the Black Ops series, using a cast of characters that is just as familiar. These characters include Alex Mason from the original Black Ops, Raul Menendez from Black Ops 2, and the Primis crew from Zombies.

Essentially, Blackout entertains the formula for a story mode where multiple players can represent an integral role, representing Treyarch's latest resolution to take the Call of Duty franchise in an entirely different direction.

Call of Duty Black Ops 4 arrives to Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC (Battle.Net) on October 12, 2018. Visit their official website to pre-order your copy of the game.
