#ECT2018 designated as Last Chance Qualifier for #InjusticeProSeries

When Season 2 of the Injustice 2 Pro Series was first announced in April/May, a series of methods to qualify for the IPS finals in Los Angeles were included among the details. One of those methods consisted of a last chance qualifier in October, although information on where this LCQ would take place remained scarce...

Up till last week, that is.

East Coast Throwdown 2018, also known as ECT, will serve as the endpoint to the IPS qualifiers on October 20-21. The event will take place at its home domain: the Crowne Plaza in Fairfield, New Jersey.

The winner of the Last Chance Qualifier will be immediately locked in as a finalist for Season 2 of the Injustice 2 Pro Series! Up to sixteen players in total will qualify, and the first fifteen will do so via any of the following methods:

- attaining 1st through 12th place in the IPS leaderboards by way of points (top twelve points holders will qualify).
- winning the Injustice 2 European Program (1 player will qualify).
- winning the Injustice 2 Elite Circuit in Canada (1 player will qualify).
- winning the Liga Latina Injustice 2 program in Latin America (1 player will qualify).

An official ruleset on the Injustice 2 LCQ at ECT will be provided via www.injustice.com/esports. Until then, you can register for ECT itself via www.smash.gg/east-coast-throwdown-2018.

What is the Injustice Pro Series? Brought to you in part by Samsung and SIMPLE Mobile, tt is an esports circuit that supports the Injustice 2 community by offering a series of qualifiers for the IPS finals across a large section of the globe. The program is divided into multiple segments, each of which targets a different region and offers a different means of qualification.

For the primary segment of the IPS, players will compete in events online and offline to earn league points as well as portions of a prize pool divided across the events. Other regions will participate in events sponsored by the Injustice 2 Elite Circuit, Injustice 2 Liga Latina and Injustice 2 European Program, and the winners of each program will be flown to Los Angeles to partake in the Season Finale.

Season 1 took place shortly after the launch of the game in May 2017. After a particularly heated course of events, Echo Fox SonicFox took home the gold and the first IPS trophy in Los Angeles, and he's well on his way to the Season 2 finals due to how the league points stand. Will he defend his throne, or will he be unseated?!

The Injustice 2 Pro Series will be streamed in its entirety across a collection of pages, one of which includes StreamMe! Stay tuned to www.stream.me/netherrealm, NRS's home page on StreamMe, to enjoy the remainder of the IPS as it comes!
