.@MnTEsports signs @Brawlhalla player @PhazonVR

From the state of Indiana, Vincent "PhazonVR" Riese sails into Mentality Esports as their Brawlhalla player!

In recent years, Phazon has left a blackened scorch mark upon hapless opponents in the Brawlhalla coliseum. He has competed online and offline in a series of championship events supported by the developers from Blue Mammoth Games. He has taken home the gold in StreamMe's Legend Series last year, as well as 1st place for doubles in the 2018 Spring and Winter Championships.

His efforts carved a path that led him to the 2017 Brawlhalla World Championships in Atlanta, the hometown to Blue Mammoth Games themselves. After fighting through grueling brackets, Phazon bulldozed his way into the Top 8 for both singles and doubles, and finished in 7th in both brackets.

Phazon has also made an appearance at DreamHack Austin 2018 just two months ago in the state of Texas. His efforts culminated in a Top 8 finish for Brawlhalla.

Now representing Mentality, Phazon looks forward to his participation in two of DreamHack's FGC conventions: DreamHack Montreal (which takes place on September 7th) and DreamHack Atlanta (November 16th), which will house none other than the 2018 Brawlhalla World Championships!

Thus far, up to over twenty-thousand competitors have entered events affiliated with Year 3 of the Brawlhalla esports scene, and that number is continuing to skyrocket as we speed towards the endpoint of the year. "Looking forward to representing @MnTEsports, thank you all for the warm welcome to the team!" Phazon announced via a Twitter post made last Tuesday. "Can't wait to be repping them at DreamHack Montreal and Atlanta!"

Brawlhalla is a free-to-play platform fighter that is accessible to novices and experts alike, but presents a staggering level of depth that adds complication to the aspect of playing the game at a competitive level. The roster consists of animated characters that are called Legends, and these characters do battle across platform-based environments with the goal of knocking their opponents off-screen, similar to Super Smash Bros.

In addition to each character's base toolset, weapons spawn randomly throughout the fight. Players can take advantage of these weapons to turn the tide of battle, as each one of them provides a unique effect that will either benefit or hinder you.

The concept of Brawlhalla was first introduced via PAX East in 2014. It released in an open beta phase in November 2015 as an exclusive PC title. Interest in the game climbed at a monstrous rate, partially due to its accessibility. The game was given a full release for both PC and Playstation 4 in October 2017.
