Brackets for SoCal Regionals 2018 (#SCR2018) are LIVE

SoCal Regionals 2018 is on the verge of running its course at the Ontario Convention Center in California this weekend!

With the closure of online registration, over 850 players in total had signed up. Brackets have also been released yesterday, but are not to be considered final until the LevelUp team announces otherwise.

Brackets can be found at smash.gg/socal-regionals-2018. To those who are attending, all questions and concerns regarding your bracket placement can be directed to the SCR admins at this Discord server.

Highly regarded as Southern California’s premiere fighting game event, SCR 2018 is proudly affiliated with a collection of FGC pro tours. These include the Injustice 2 Pro Series, the Dragonball FighterZ World Tour (Dragon Radar Event), the Capcom Pro Tour, and the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary World Tour (Street Fighter Alpha 3).

As such, more than personal glory will be on the line for those who step into the ring.

Since its inception in 2010, SCR has proudly preserved the roots of fighting game history while welcoming the newer generation with an open embrace. The event is primarily operated by LevelUp Productions, which in turn is run by Alex Valle and Jimmy Nguyen. As years passed, player counts gradually increased with each year, as did the need for an expansive venue and increased production quality.

For 2018, SCR will be housed at the Ontario Convention Center, which comes equipped with over 28,000 square feet of space. The venue will also have a collection of eateries and theme parks as neighbors.

The following games will be supported at SCR this year:

  • Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition (PS4)

  • Tekken 7 (PS4)

  • Street Fighter Alpha 3 (PS4)

  • Dragon Ball FighterZ (PS4)

  • Injustice 2 (PS4)

  • Super Smash Bros. (Wii U)

  • Super Street Fighter II Turbo (Arcade)

  • Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator 2 (PS4)

  • Blazblue Tag Cross Battle (PS4)

  • Blazblue Central Fiction (PS4)

  • Under Night In Birth Late [st] (PS4)

  • Soul Calibur VI (PS4)

  • Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite (PS4)

  • Pokken Tournament DX (Switch)

  • ARMS (Switch)

In addition, SCR will happily provide accommodations for a series of side tournaments to be supported at the event. Titles include Fantasy Strike, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, CvS2, Virtua Fighter, and more.
