September 2018 Update applies bug fixes and adds new "Murkwood Marsh" stage to @FantasyStrike
Yesterday, Sirlin Games delivered their next update to Fantasy Strike, a unique fighting game that promotes accessibility without abandoning a core aspect of fighting games: evolution through experience.
Albeit earlier than anticipated, the September update was swiftly implemented into Fantasy Strike yesterday to address crucial errors that arose via the August update. It also introduces a brand new stage called Murkwood Marsh, home to one of ten playable characters in the game, Argagarg.
And of course, the update includes some balance tweaks to the game's characters, as well as an adjustment to the hit animations that occur when either a Counter Hit or a Guard Break occurs, so as to clearly communicate to the player that both of the scenarios occurred.
The notes can be reviewed in their entirety at this link from the official blog site for Fantasy Strike.
Fantasy Strike is currently available in early access as a PC-exclusive title on Steam. The game is also expected to release soon for Nintendo Switch and Playstation 4. In fact, early 2019 is currently the target schedule for release, according to the Twitter post from the official Fantasy Strike account, seen below.
The game has also been showcased at various events held for the fighting game community, the latest of which includes an appearance at the Evolution 2018 Championships, where a stacked side tournament consisting of 64 players took place. Currently, the team behind Fantasy Strike has another public demonstration planned in the form of a tournament at SoCal Regionals 2018, which will be held at the Ontario Convention Center in California, on September 14-16, 2018.
